Jean is a 67 year old grandmother and customer of mine. The other year she was involved in a violent
incident outside the local shops which are notorious for gangs of hoodies, junkies, and muggers. When she left
the post office her hand bag was grabbed by a hoodie who was around 5ft 9"tall and of medium build. She immediately pulled the bag with her left hand and delivered a full power right cross to his jaw and KO'd him.The
attacker was just starting to come round as the police arrived and was later found to have a broken jaw and two damaged molars.Jean wasn't injured but did suffer a badly swollen hand. She didn't press charges against the attacker and neither was she charged with assault as the attacker didn't want to press charges either. She told me she had simply seen red and wanted hurt him.

So when people say don't use punches take their advice with a pinch of salt.Use what works and is likely to
cause the most damage.

Jean has never practiced martial arts in her life and has never attended a self defence course.

I think a lot of people say they do and don't do is all part of the trying to sound skillful and different. I can't believe anyone that has actually had the odd fight would say that they don't use their hands. Well I do because they havnt had many fights if any!
