I was just wondering if theres any Instinctive combat instructional/training dvds available ? i don't have regular internet access at the moment, but i will visit as and when im online. I train at home on heavy bag, in a home gym set up! i find dvds a go way to learn if you train alone.

Newport, south wales. mick coups club is about 30 mins away, but with family/work commitments i don't have the time. im a big fan of the early geoff thompson stuff, 3 second fighter/pavement arena. so i study that a lot, and drill my hands a lot!

Im currently online with me mobile but its very limited to what i can view and memory is to small to view videos! ive seen some youtube clips, like the explosive power which has inspired me to buy a small maize bag. if you could do me a dvd that would be great just let me know about price/postage mate. im trying to get out of the habit of punching out of a boxing stance. the clips of you and dennis you explode from natural type stances

no problem Gavin Ill put something together for you at the weekend.
you mentioned a small maize bag,my small maize bag has now got kiln dried sand in it I can highly recommend refilling it if its standard, just to try it,you could weight it and empty it(but keep it just in case) then fill it with the same weight in kiln dried sand, the bag wont be full and it will also give more so you can sink your fists with or without gloves, sands a bit like water as in the harder you hit it the solider it becomes,so take your time,if its to light add a bit more sand, its made big differences with me personally

Thanks for the info on maize bag. looks a good way to practice power punching/one punch k.o. my heavy bag too heavy for bare knuckle punching.

just a quick note about the maizebag I put the sand in 3 layers of bin bags but I dont tie it tight or the sand will become to compact, just a loose knot and it can be undone if needed and the sands got room to move.

whats in it mate? Ive found that if its heavy and hard,my knuckles still seem to gain from conditioning even through the gloves and I also try to land mostly on the 2 larger knuckles, and I can still feel that right through the gloves, with my hand in the same position as I hit bare knuckle, after altering the gloves slightly mainly so i can fold the thumb over the fingers, so I can make a similar fist shape as bare knuckle
I use some basic bag gloves and a par of 14oz boxing gloves, and I tend to use gel gloves and gel wraps underneath,I didnt like the feel of the usual bandages.Ill show you them on the clip

I sent the DVD off today basically some clips of YouTube and me having a little chat about the differences with the footwork
Its really hard to train this sort of thing on the heavy bag,but the small maize bag is ideal.
There's a bit on the end, with me just trying to break the rhythm a bit in a sort of "hit them but didn't hit them hard enough and have to hit them again asap" sort of way
with that big bag your probably miles ahead of me from a punching point of view but Hopefully you will get a few tips from the footwork and body movement as its the same for the open hand which ive spent allot more time training
